Hamilton International Middle School is auditioning/interviewing band students for the 2010-11 school year from May 10th to the 19th. These will take place in the band room (Room C-102) at Lincoln H.S. (4400 Interlake Ave. N) the current location of HIMS.

The audition for in-coming 6th graders with elementary band experience will consist of playing a prepared song of their choice, the concert Bb scale and a short sight reading piece. For students currently in a middle school program wanting to audition for senior jazz they should play a prepared piece, improvise on the concert Bb blues and do some sight reading. For concert band students they should have a prepared piece, play a two octave chromatic scale, 3 major scales and there will be a sight reading piece.

To arrange an audition contact the main office at 252-5810 and they will give you the scheduling options. All auditions will occur after school and in the evening. I’m looking forward to hearing all the new students coming to Hamilton next year!
