Concert attire is to be worn at evening concerts and designated off-campus performances.
Gentlemen:
- White pressed winged tuxedo shirt
- Black bowtie* (Beginning, Cadet, and Concert Orchestras and Bands; Junior Jazz I and II Bands)
- Blue bowtie and cummerbund* (Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Senior Jazz Band)
- Black pants (no jeans), black socks, black dress shoes (no tennis shoes)
Ladies:
- Black shirt: must be at least ¾ length sleeve or longer (no spaghetti straps of plunging necklines)
- Black pants or dress (length must be below the knees)
- If ladies are wearing skirts or dresses, black tights or stockings are required.
- Black socks, black dress shoes (no flip flops or tennis shoes)
* Blue bow ties and cummerbunds available for use from school; black bow ties can be purchased from The Tux Shop at Northgate at a discount for Hamilton students.
Dress Codes at Festivals
As representatives of Hamilton, students are expected to adhere to the above expectations for concert dress for all performances. While traveling, students are expected to dress appropriately, as school dress code rules apply for students while in hotels, at dinner, in public spaces, attending workshops, etc.
