Choir

Taught by Mika Armaly, Choir is open to all Hamilton students. Students will rehearse and perform a variety of choral music. There will be an emphasis on using solfege, sight-reading, developing aural perception (ear training), and basic music theory. While no audition is required for choir, students are expected to be highly motivated and reflect an advanced ensemble attitude. Choir will take part in many types of performances throughout the year including the Fall and Spring concerts.

Vocal Jazz

Vocal Jazz is an audition-only ensemble in which students will explore the unique and vibrant world of vocal jazz, as well as global music and vocal traditions as they relate to jazz. Directed by Grammy Award-nominated jazz artist Lary Barilleau, the Vocal Jazz ensemble will perform in three concerts with jazz band, as well as at the Seattle Folklife Festival.
